Student Life: National Junior Honor Society

Students attending the Chestnut Ridge Middle School have the opportunity to receive recognition for academic achievement through participation in the National Junior Honor Society. When N.J.H.S. was founded in 1929, it was created as an organization that would recognize and encourage academic achievement while developing while developing other characteristics essential to citizens in a democracy. These ideals of scholarship, character, service, leadership, and citizenship remain as relevant today as they were in 1929.

Through N.J.H.S. chapter service activities, members maintain and extend the qualities that won them selection. Membership is thus both an honor and a commitment.

Students eligible for membership will be notified in the early spring of their 7th grade school year.
