About Me
Background
Hello! My name is Melissa Wasko and I am the School Counselor for Chestnut Ridge Middle School (grades 5-8). I am happy to be a part of the Ridge family.
I currently live in Martinsburg with my son and daughter. I come to Chestnut Ridge from the Altoona Area School District where I have spent the last 20 years. I graduated from Penn State University as a Special Education Teacher and have taught many students in grades K-12. I have an extensive teaching background working with students in behavior modification programs. I graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in School Counseling in 2008 and made the switch in my career in 2021.
I hope to bring knowledge, compassion, and fun to the Chestnut Ridge School District. I am so excited to get to know each student and look forward to a great year!
