On Tuesday, February 6th, Mr. Lazor and the fifth-grade team celebrated the writing accomplishments of their 5th-grade students with a surprise visit from author Alan St. Jean. Students were called to the auditorium after their third-period classes to celebrate their completion of the Young Authors Project and the 17 students who have conquered the challenge of creating their own published stories. Mr. St. Jean’s visit culminated with a photo shoot with the young authors and distributing copies of his books to the students. It was an excellent experience for the students and teachers alike. We are thankful for the opportunity to participate in the Young Author’s Project that the Young Authors Foundation is running.
We look forward to sharing the link to our student's work, which will be published on the Foundation’s website after Monday, February 26, 2024. To access books written by CRMS students, go to theyoungauthorsfoundation.com, and click on the Literacy Program link. There will be a pencil that serves as a link for the teachers and students to review their story and others. You'll find CRMS stories in section 1.
